Every year, we decorate a school family Christmas Tree in the Library. Families are invited to send in one ornament to trim the tree - homemade or store-bought. Throughout December, a different letter of the alphabet is called, children whose last names begin with that letter will place their ornament on the tree as the entire school prays for their families. Please write your child's name on the back/bottom of the ornament so that we can return it to you. Read below for the schedule.
Head down to the Church Hall after the 4:30 Mass to sing your Christmas-loving heart out! This family friendly gathering will feature Karaoke accompanied by a live band! Gizmos, hot dogs and beer will be sold - but feel free to BYOB and BYO-snacks. $5 at the door. Doors open at 5:30pm - the singing will begin at 6pm.
St. Laurentius student recipients of the 1st Annual Haley Morris Scholarship Fund will be announced at the 11am Mass. Students who embody the "Haley Spirit" - hard working, kind, respectful, a friend to all, an asset to the community and who always try their best were nominated by their teachers from each grade. Come celebrate Haley's life and legacy and congratulate the winners.
One of our most beautiful school traditions...the annual Christmas Pageant. Join our school community as scenes from Jesus' birth story are narrated and presented by students from all grades in costume. Under the meticulous direction of Mr. Duane Rutkowski, this event is both joyful and reverent. Candle-lit processions, seasonal songs, angels, 'sparkling' stars, shepherds, adorable farm animals, ribbon dancers and of course, the Holy Family yield the perfect antidote to holiday madness. This restorative evening is not to be missed.
Following 8 weeks of in-school workshops, our 5th grade students, along with students from 14 other schools across Philadelphia (as a part of the Show Stoppers All Stars education program and One Musical Philadelphia) will have their final perform Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
